World’s Best Baked Beans

I cannot take credit for this recipe. One of the faculty in my department shared this amped up version of a summer picnic classic just in time for the world to reopen. The combination of texture and zing make this baked bean combination truly worthy of its title, “world’s best.” Enjoy!

Ingredients

28 oz can of Bush’s original baked beans
14 oz can kidney beans (drained)
14 oz can garbanzo beans (drained)
14 oz can black beans (drained)
14 oz can green beans (drained)
14 oz can butter beans (drained)
Half pound of thick cut bacon sliced with kitchen shears into small pieces
1 finely diced red onion
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup catsup
1/3 cup white vinegar

Bake at 400′ for an hour covered and 15 minutes uncovered.
Determine the consistency you like. This is a no fail recipe. Watch the picnicers lick their plates!
